INTRODUCTION

Meet Maverick Larkin, a 3-time World Champion, 5-time Junior World Champion, 2-time World Record Holder, and winner of over 90 Australian National Titles across both speed and freestyle disciplines. Having competed at the highest level for nearly 13 years, Mav has earned recognition on the global stage as both an athlete and a coach. Beyond his achievements, he is a dedicated advocate for the growth of jump rope worldwide, and love nothing more than helping to develop the next generation of athletes and spreading awareness of the many benefits the sport has to offer in schools across the world. Mav remains passionate about seeing jump rope reach its full potential, with a vision of one day witnessing it on the Olympic stage.

Yet, over the past few days, it’s become clear that the sacrifices made in the last nine months have been worth it and are paying off. With unwavering support and encouragement from my Mum, Dad, and family, lifelong dreams have not only been possible but have been achieved, not just leading up to Nationals but throughout the competition as well. I’m incredibly proud to say that the 2024 Australian Rope Skipping Championships has been my most successful National competition to date. These achievements are a testament not only to my amazing family but also to my incredible teammates. Without your constant support, motivation, and encouragement, none of this would have been possible. To thrive and grow in a community that offers such acceptance and encouragement is truly something special.
